"Across the UK, at varying paces, lockdown restrictions are now easing. People from different households are able to meet outside while adhering to social distancing rules. This means that contact arrangements for children are beginning to being reviewed, including exploring resuming face-to-face contact which has, in the main, not been taking place during lockdown.
Date: Thursday, 25 June, 2020

We have developed this support session for foster carers and social workers based in England to think collaboratively about resuming face-to-face contact and to discuss the range of factors to consider when developing the most appropriate contact plan. In addition, we will discuss the learning points from contact arrangements during lockdown and opportunities to embrace new ways of working moving forward.
The Zoom session will include:

The introduction of The Fostering Network’s practice resources for foster carers and social workers to support the decisions being made around contact plans and highlighting issues to consider:
Covid-19 contact arrangements: Social worker checklist
Covid-19 contact arrangements: Foster carer checklist
Breakout sessions to begin to think collaboratively about what has been learnt from lockdown with the use of virtual methods to facilitate contact, and how face-to-face contact will resume, including sharing examples of good practice.
