Our Commitment To You
Xcel 2000 aims to provide you with the highest level of care and support. We do this through careful selection process, ensuring we only recruit foster carers who we feel are committed, flexible and resilient in meeting your needs. We also ensure that our foster carers are continuously being developed by providing them with on-going training and support which equips our carers in providing the highest standards of care.
We are an agency which is absolutely focused on supporting children and young people to achieve better outcomes with respect to their:
- better social skills
- better emotional resilience
And provide them with the necessary training required in order to support you in the above areas.
We aim to offer our young people the opportunities to live in a safe and happy environment, staying in touch with friends and family and to try new things.
Recruiting Foster Carers
As part of our recruitment process Xcel 2000 present all new applicants before a fostering panel. This panel is made up of people who are on what is called a ‘central list’ of panel members and come from various different professional or personal backgrounds. This includes Care Leaver Advisers who themselves have experienced the care system and so understand how a young person being placed in care is likely to feel. At panel they are able to ask appropriate questions to the applicants to ensure any young person placed have the opportunity to thrive in their care. They offer advice to applicants on certain subjects to benefit the wellbeing of any young person placed with them. They are committed to anti discriminatory practice and will consider each applicant(s) highlighting any strengths or/and weaknesses of the applicant and working out how the agency should support them as foster carers, with their knowledge and understanding of ‘what being in foster care feels like’.
