Interested in Fostering?
Fostering is a way of providing a stable family life for children and young people, who are unable to live with their families. This allows children the chance to thrive in a safe, secure, loving and caring home environment with foster carers.
Foster carers offer a home where children and young people feel valued, respected and cared for. Foster carers take a close interest in the lives of the children and young people. They set appropriate boundaries, whilst understanding and appreciating the uniqueness of each child and young person and how past experiences can affect how children see the world.
Every year, tens of thousands of children across the UK need foster carers while they can't live with their own families. Therefore, this means thousands of new carers are needed each year.
Anyone can apply to foster regardless of whether they are single, married or living with a partner. Have their own children or not, live in their own home or rented accommodation, regardless of race, religion or sexuality. Young people are preferably placed with families that can reflect their culture, however sometimes foster carers may be asked to consider a young person from a different culture or faith, if we feel they are able to meet their needs.
